Testimonals

When I stop and reflect on my past and the challenges I have faced, one of the most important and positive relationships has been my relationship with hippotherapy. Florence Therapy and Wellness is an organization of true professionals as well as genuine people. They bring a level of expertise that focuses on both the physical condition as well as the person, combining both to obtain a level of care that truly benefits the clients needs. I'm so thankful we were pointed into the direction of Hippotherapy, as my son looks forward to attending his therapy. I would like to thank all the staff for providing services for Tyler who sustained a brain injury in 2008. They are extremely knowledgeable and most of all have a NEVER GIVE UP type attitude. They constantly push my son as he pushes them. I feel blessed to have them work with us as well as teaching me ways to work outside of therapy. They have truly become a part of our family.

I have an 11 year old boy with autism.  He began hippotherapy in July 2011. I have seen improvements in his expressive communication. When Chris is on the horse he much more relaxed and focused. The rhythmic movement of the horse clams him down. He also uses more spontaneous speech while riding. I would recommend hippotherapy and feel fortunate my son can participate in this therapy.

I am a 72 year old female living with multiple sclerosis for the past 19 years. Slow water exercises kept me in fairly good health for many years, but I can no longer participate because of my MS issues.  I have been a patient at Florence Therapy and Wellness  clinic for some time with Mara Arlington's who has been a tremendous help to my good health.  I learned about Hippotherapy program at the clinic by was quite apprehensive about participating because I  have no equestrian experience. I finally decided to try hippotherapy and found it easy to get the horse because of a good loading platform with very capable assistants holding both of my legs and another leading the horse slowly around in a large indoor arena.  Hippotherapy has been a very enjoyable, organized, relaxing experience for me, which I still continue.  It has helped my balance and trunk muscle strength. It is amazing how the movement of a horse can be so beneficial with balance and muscle strength into eh life of an adult or child. Chris Phipps works in the same program teaching children with special needs and is a very good instructor. I would recommend Hippotherapy to anyone with health issues.
